How to Reduce Mosquito Breeding Sites
Mosquitoes can breed in small amounts of stagnant water. Regular inspection and proper maintenance of your premises can help reduce potential breeding areas.
Remove Standing Water
Store, turn upside down or remove outdoor containers that can collect rainwater. Keep rubbish bins covered and dry, and empty unused swimming pools where necessary.
Keep Drains and Gutters Clean
Clean roof gutters, drains and other areas where water may accumulate. Air-conditioning units and other water-holding equipment should also be checked and cleaned regularly.
Cover and Maintain Water Storage
Keep water storage containers properly covered. Vases, flower pots and other water-holding containers should be emptied and cleaned regularly.
Protect against Mosquito bites
Use mosquito screens or wire mesh on doors and windows where appropriate. Keeping indoor and outdoor areas properly maintained can also help reduce mosquito exposure.
Professional Mosquito control
When mosquito activity persists, professional control measures such as larviciding, thermal fogging and misting can be used to target mosquitoes at different stages of their life cycle.
